St Patrick`s Dramatic Society presents - The Long Road by Shelagh Stephenson

The Long Road, Shelagh Stephenson’s moving play about knife crime and its effect on a once close-knit family, will be staged by St Patrick’s Dramatic Society at The Studio in the Lexicon, Dún Laoghaire later this year (31st August – 3rd September, 2022).

When eighteen-year-old Danny is fatally stabbed in a random attack his family struggles to find meaning and forgiveness. His mother’s determination to understand the atrocity brings her face to face with his young killer and forces the family to confront the bitter senselessness of their loss.

Directed by Judith Elmes, the cast features Clare Cresswell in the role of Mary, Danny’s mother; Len Nealon as John, his father; Michael Fogarty as Joe, his brother; Hannah Blair White as Emma, the young offender; and Tara Murphy as Elizabeth, the counsellor / facilitator.

This powerful but sadly topical play has a running time of 90 minutes with no interval.
