Wicklow Choral Society-Greatest Choral Hits

Join us for a spectacular evening of music that spans centuries and styles, from Renaissance brilliance to modern masterpieces. The concert opens with the splendour of Monteverdi’s Vespers and the flowing beauty of Bach’s Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring, before moving into Vivaldi’s jubilant Gloria and Handel’s royal Zadok the Priest and triumphant Hallelujah Chorus. Mozart’s moving Lacrimosa and Fauré’s serene In Paradisum bring depth and tenderness, while Orff’s thundering O Fortuna delivers sheer dramatic power. 

The programme also features striking contemporary works – Arnesen’s thought-provoking The Wound in the Water, which the choir premiered in Ireland last  May, Gjeilo’s cinematic Sunrise Mass, and Jenkins’ powerful Benedictus from The Armed Man.
