Immerse yourself in history (and the famous Irish weather) on this one-off December walking tour. The lerned duo will lead us through the history and heritage of the area, including fables, fascinating folklore and the fun local stories which are hidden in the ancient Leigue Cemetery...
From magic fish, ancient stones, rabid rabbits, our connection to St Patrick, and a man with two funerals and three headstones, uncover the significance of symbols and explore the mythology that makes this ancient, mystical place so special... not just to Mayo but to Ireland as a country!
As usual, kids go free with paying adults, please wrap up warm with raincoats, hats and scarves, and wear suitable footwear - the ground is often uneven and may be slippery. This event will go ahead whatever the weather (unless there is an official weather warning). Meeting point is the carpark at McGintys Headstones, please arrive 5 minutes early.
